Thanks, I love the reviews. Regarding your question about creating the backstory, I think they should put videoscreens in the queue like they did for Dead
Man's Wharf. If that's too expensive, just provide some narration in the queue.
I think the TPAers who went to Universal/Orlando will agree that they are BIG into providing backstories in the queue. |

I really liked the action pictures. I first read the review from my sidekick and as I scrolled past the pictures, it looked like a movie flipbook!!!!
Screens are ideal but expensive. Since guests like to destroy everything within reach, most wouldn't survive the season. Maybe adding speakers to the queue that give PSA-style announcements. Something like "Attention!! Please evacuate the mountain and surrounding forrests! Wildfires have ravaged the region and claimed the lives of many firefighters. The bodies have not been recovered yet. Unless you wish to share their fate, turn back now!!" |

Oooh i like the PSA style announcements in the line for pyromaniax idea. I also think they should have a creepy siren going off (I personally find sirens to be scary sounding) and a bunch of fog machines on the outside of the mountain with orange lights so the mountain actually looks like its on fire. Pyromaniax just needs more stuff like that to get the point across. They really didint get that whole "fire" point across very well in my opinion. |

I think the story line was supposed to be about moonshiners who's operation literaly blows up and catches the mountain on fire? maybe in the area at the
top of the first lift they should have a Still the blows up or something.

I actually really liked Pyromaniax!
I loved the costumes and the themeing. Even though the first time I went on, most of lights were on when you went down the first drop. I would actually like the PSA going off in the que with a siren going off every once in awhile like a passing fire truck. Maybe have some fog poor out the entrance to make it look like it's on fire. Some areas of pyro would be REALLY cool!

 Having worked in both, I personally feel
that the Log Ride is the harder of the two rides to work. I distinctly remember being in the sawmill already sweating before I started scaring for the night!
I REALLY hope Knott's puts more time and money into this attraction for 2008. It desperately needs it. All we really had was ourselves, fog machines, and
a bunch of red and yellow flashing lights. I'd like to see something along the lines of the Pirates of the Caribbean fire effects. It would also be cool
to see fog literally flowing out of the sawmill building at the beginning to get a sense that it's on fire. Maybe some red/orange strobe lights in a
couple of the scare positions, it would be really effective. BTW, this was me!

Rick, Thank You so much for the review and pictures. I can't believe HOW MUCH I missed while I was on this ride this year. and to think I thought I kept my
eyes open this year. :-)
Oh well, leaves more to see in 2008. Great Review and Great Job to all the monsters! |
